Heres something i'm currently working on, The background is subject to wild roving changes.
I would love any suggestions as to how to make it look better, i'm going to go and try some shading/lighting on it later, but i'd love any general hints people have to offer. plus any C&C obviously.

I know you mentioned it was cartoony... but it's looking kind of strange. The porportions of your character look really off. In specific the legs look really short, giving the character a kind of dwarf look. You should work on refining the line art before you go for the shading. |

i agreed about the proportions, make sure you lengthen his arms as well! I also think the linework would benefit greatly with some varried line weight, as opposed to all chunky lines like you have now. Good start, keep working on it! |
