Three slots open for small class in two weeks
I teach a very small figure painting class for ten weeks, four semesters a year at my own studio in Los Angeles. Right now I have three openings, beginnging in exactly two weeks on Saturday, June 25th. I know this is short notice, but if you contact me now, you will be able to get all the materials you will need to begin by then.
The class is in the atelier tradition - I was trained at the Florence Academy of art in Florence, Italy.
A great deal of attention is given to accuracy and sensitivity to light, color and transitions.
Also covered will be much of the classical materials and techniques not frequently addressed in Los Angeles, especially with regards to oils, colors, glazing and scumbling.
If interested, please contact me at [email protected].
The class is every Saturday from 9:30am-4:30pm, and the tuition cost is $800.

I'm an admirer nothing more.
There are people who'd like to study in Florence. The ateliers there are different than those here. This is a way to get some of that training in smaller group - more personalization and also work with a less conservative painter who doesn't think there's only one way to accomplish an end and art can be appreciated in broader terms that those you might read on ARC.
Its useful information for some but not for everybody obviously. |

Compared to the stuff that's posted here, yeah, but his technique looks pretty solid. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Academic program. Not "Academic:" in the sense of the 19th century genre but he's showing techniques and methods that he can teach like glazing.
Where can you learn glazing these days yet the luminosity and the depth when you look at the work itself - not an internet image - is breathtaking.
This what you can learn if you have the ability in the first place. Then go do what you want with it.
The concept is to be able to predict the end result of your work rather than produce happy or unhappy accidents. |
