----UPDATE 8th May 2005----

More like a speedy but I haven't posted a finished painting in ages so this will do hehe Embarassed

(oldish pencil sketch coloured in PS, "finish" in OpenCanvas)

As I said it's very loose but I'm kinda happy how it turned out.

all i can think of is lika mystic Samurai Jack thing for the backgorund. But the warrior, the word mighty is perfect, because you expect to see a huge guy with a huge weapon or somehting, but he's might in a different way so yea. cool peice of art.

I don't think you always have to know whats going on in the background. I think I can see where there might be some confusion with it. The light source you have on the character seems to be coming from an angle above and to the right of the character. You have a large bright orb behind him that looks like it could be a light source coming from behind. So it's like the two are going against each other. Just my observations. It's good though, I dig the look of the warrior guy. How might he is.

daz199, Santa Cruz Mafia, jinnseng - Thanks for the crits! I added rim light to the character, made some minor adjustments and overall just had fun in Painter IX, I'm relatively new to Painter but I already think it's brilliant piece of code!

Great improvement Timo! I seems to be a lot looser now...
Hey, I'd really love to see the highrez versions of the images on your site.
Yeah, I asked this before - I am just curious. When will they be avaliable?

Thanks Max Very Happy The new site will go online after I've figured out Flash :; it's progressing I can assure you that! Maybe next month if schedule allows..

A friend of mine mentioned about the looseness too, he just bluntly said "you put more time and have less details!?" Very Happy I think it's that after staring at it a while you begin to see which portions you need to preserve and which to get rid off.

Great!! Can't await it Very Happy
Yes, that's definitely true! I try to spend at least 50% for thinking and the rest for painting.
I end up doodling around most of the time anyway tho : )
Keep up the good work!
