Hi, I posted this over at CGTalk earlier, haven't gotten any response there yet so I thought I'd try posting it here too.

This is an Illustrator piece i've been working on for a few hours now, I am really unsure whether if I should call this finished or if I should continue working on it. I've been staring at it for too long to be able to give it a fair judgement, does it look finished or does it feel like there's something missing? Should I add a background or should I keep it as is? Please give me your thoughts!

Looks very nice, and I mean everything. His position, the style, the detail, and his arm looks nice too. Great job.

Just some quick observations.
Because your edges aren't super sharp and straight, I wouldn't have guessed it was done with illustrator. Good job if thats what you were going for. It looks unfinished to me because of all the white space. You might crop it down if when you've finally decided it's done. Also something about the anatomy. His shoulders look really square out, as if he's got shoulder pads on.

Hey, thanks for the replys.

Jinnseng; That was the look I was going for, I don't want it looking too 'cartoony' =)

Heres a small update, reworked the amp a bit, realigned the guitar strap and some other minor stuff.

Anybody got an idea for a background, I think the white background looks awkward :/

I like it. Hehe since you nailed the Marshall amp so nicely, make a wall of Marshall stacks and an implied stage setting. Afterall being on stage is what he's dreaming of when slammin the guitar Smile

Then again you would have to move him away from the stack or he'd become deaf after the first chord.

Not sure about the checkered pattern of the band. It kinda clashes with his tatoo on the arm now.
