Don't waste your money! Just start going through Sumaleth's Links. There's a wealth of information in there, more than enough to get you started.

I agree. I learned most by doing the tutorials, there are jillions of them on the net. Any time you have spare time just go through a couple. Technology changes so fast that there's no way a formal classroom can keep up with the changes, the books are dated by the time they are available.
Do the tut's, even the ones you aren't all that interested in. Also read the forums and you'll pick up lots of little helpful tips. |
