My new peice involves these topics/themes
-self sabotage
-victimology
-seperatism
-ant-intellectualism
-ideal/present 'black america'
...i am on sketch process whcih i have aquired some refs. to use. I print them at my school so I have to post them and print them off there. Once i get them printed and arranged i can sketch out some concepts of it and post em up.

alright so i guess it is time for me to let go of pencils and paper being my main weapon and time to put them as side arms and bring out the more creative more involved collage mixed media side of me should be a good time lol. I am currently changing the set up which i posted above basically the 26 panel peice turned to about 8/9ish panels that are more deeper and tells the story/relates the msg i feel much better. I am incorperating the veiwer in this peice as well as 3-d items to a 2-d peice i intend on using metal, wires fence canvas paper cloth and much more lol here is a basic sketch of the one that is on my wall being worked/skethed
http://img170.exs.cx/img170/6513/lk9cb.jpg
suggestions to the sketch are very welcome! _________________ mercer

I extented the peice a bit as to include a decending black hawk and crew onto the streets of 'black america'. The only issue i have so far is the movement or lack of it lol...alright i have the left to right movement through the use of down wires and beams and all that in the rubble then i have the telephone pole going into the other side of the city and i put another pole to prevent the eye from going off the right side of the peice but i dunno what to do about getting the veiwer out of the right side city and back into the rubble any suggestion and what i could add or if the movement is good as is.
i could add a pole so it connects the bottom right with one inbetween the two building in the right scene then hve the pole leaning on the fence to have down wires going back into the rubble? _________________ mercer |

"why?" is not the question as much as why are you making it so complicated, and why are you subjecting us to every scratch of your ass as you make it?
It's not that monumental a work from everything, and I mean everything you are creating or displaying...You've presented no concept sketch, and except for every reference photo you accumulated and some scribbles, it looks like you are constructing this as you go along. If you feel that strongly the need for a running "stream of consciousness" as you create this, don't waste the forum. Why not just keep a LiveJournal or Blogster account, and then post your condensed, organized thoughts, instead of making Sijun your personal on-line diary?.
Why not just update us with the highlights of this creative endeavor, preferably in single page-size installments? Feel free to include all your scribbles and additional images on that one screen capture, sparing us the overly large image viewing (none of which is source cited, BTW, and I have a more than passing suspicion that you didn't take any of the photos...).
In a nutshell, TMI (Too much information). The mystery and appreciation get lost when you've been subjected to every micro detail unless you are presenting a tutorial, and even then, your process is waaayy overbloated with this type of presentation. _________________ Life is short. Posted: 22 Feb 2005 18:54 is when i posted the concept sketch. This peice is not complicated at all in my view. Compared to my drawings it is basic, maybe complicated in the way that it is a mixed media peice but the idea is simple. As stated before i was using the board to print out me refrences,i use the refrences but i do not replicate them. Either way it is very hard to take the pictures that relate to my subject that is why using a image source is great. I make no money off of this and itis a personal project of mine. The actual pictures will not even be used but i am basing my drawings on those pictures. I cannot draw jets, planes and crumbling buildings from my head. They would lack the detail. Sorry if it seems like I am wasting space on sijun. But i posted based on what i was thinking and reworking. Being it is a work in progress it only seems right that i do not post once get few replies and then leave it at that. I show progress for the many watchers. Maybe at one stage they did not have any suggestions but at another they will. Or for them to see how i got to point a to be...maybe to help with the process or the ideas. Sorry again for wasting the forum... ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif) _________________ mercer |

Honestly hun, I have to agree with sweetums. So many images is distracting and the load time leaves me irritated by the end of it all so by then my desire to comment is erased. Nobody wants to wait for all those images to load and see every step of the process unless its a tutorial. If you start doing this kinda stuff in a LiveJournal or something, then you could post a link to that and those that actually want that much view of your work as it goes can have it by their own choice. _________________ DA Gallery| LiveJournal
