I dont know if this has been posted yet but the airbrush quality isnt that good on version 9. Its really choppy I have tried everything from the standard brush tracking to adjusting spacing. It just seems like Corel just took a step back with the brush period. Does anyone have any clue on how I could solve this problem?

Hi old,

It's a known problem and Corel Painter Program Manager Rick Champagne at Corel posted a message at CGTalk a month or two back to let us know they're working on it.

To me, the PIX Airbrush variants look like they're using the Drip Method but they're not.

The brushstrokes are oily looking. Not a pretty sight!

Hi,

Just to make it clear, Rick said they were working on, or would work on, fixing the Airbrushes problem.

To my knowledge, no announcement of a patch for Painter IX has been made by Corel.

We'll just have to wait and see If there is going to be a patch.

What a surprise! Corel broke something that was fine and has no idea how to repair it! Painter is buggy!
So surprising.
I mean it's not like they fucked up saving wet layers for digital watercolor in painter 8 and fixed it by releasing an update called Painter 9 that cost a few hundred bucks.

If you want to use Painter find a copy of version 5 or 6 on Ebay, and never ever buy anything from Corel. I know I won't.

Still waiting for a patch update. Its getting kind of annoying that a popular brush like this is not performing normaly
