Hi ya Gang!!!
I'm fairly new here and thought it was time for us to meet...
I'm Kat, aka Wildkat and have recently been messin around doing stuff with the comp.
Two very dear friends of mine, Kyri & Cos of Darkpath Images, told me about the wonderful world of Photoshop......so I had to try it out for myself......
This was my first attempt with Photoshop,

it began as part of a contest gameart was having at the time, well... (I'm awful with deadlines.....anyone else?...) the deadline came and went
But I found it to be a great learning experience and am absolutely taken by Photoshop, I feel like such an infant with it....there is so much to learn...
and I would love to hear your thoughts...

Your a natural. Try studying Dhabih's tutorials. I think you will be able to put them to good use with your ammount of skill.

Were can I go to get the list of code for adding special animated icons to threads?

whoa... for a photoshop virgin, that's awesome... for a first-timer, you're pretty damn good... don't know what else to say... anatomy looks good. I like the way you didn't do much smudging, althought THAT would also look really good... I guess you should just figure out whether to use it or not and stick to whatever looks best, and THAT looks awesome... You're great!

OK, kid I would like to point you to some things. If you want you can have a look at a tutorial I did. The first one is on gameart under spotlight no.44
The other one is on www.3dpalette.com under tutorials and there is a tutorial called Assault Chick from Concept to Completition.
But hey, for the 1st time this is mighty cool.

The drawings beautiful, and so is the character in the subject My only advice would be to fix her right hand, there would be a bit more 'hand' in there before the fingers start, it seems like her fingers start too close to her wrist, but that's me. Anyway, keep up the great work, you're very talented, and I hope to see much more from ya

PS: Anyone else notice how pseudo-erotic the title of this topic is?

Whew... the site's back up...lol.. always seems to happen that way.....

Micke,....I keep lookin in the mirror and ..... well that's where my arms fall.... maybe I didn't shade the bend enough ...or my arms have just gotten shorter since I've been using the comp.. :O

derPunkt... great tutorial at 3d, love the pose and the way you constructed it....and thank you for the vote of cool....

FireWalker, thank you so much for the nice things you said about the pic.... as to the "finger" it's the pinky and it's curled behind the rock....but I like your version better ...makes her seem tougher...

Thank you guys so much for the wonderful encouragement...

Hey man, great work, love it, I thought it would be some crap, because its your first work ever done on photosop, but I was disappointed in that, instead of some amateur work, i saw a well done artwork and I wouldnt believe that you've done it from the first time using PS. Great!
PS: umm.. maybe its only me, but the hands are kinda awkward, the right hand has a very small palm, and the left one looks kinda like a claw. But hey, maybe its only me. GW! (Good Work :)

Thank you Scoop for the nice things you said and for your helpful comments...... I see what you are saying about that hand... she seems to be having alot of difficulty with that hand... I'll be up to my elbows in hand reconstruction.....

pseudo erotic?...

Thank you Dukez....and of course I remember you..... thanks for stopping by the Dark'n'Wild board... and yes it's just me and my mouse.....

Kat's love mice....

Thanks again!!!

Nice work Wildkat... looks as if you're off to a blazing start. One slight thing I noticed was that her hand on the rock appears to be missing a finger. Perhaps a battle wound of her's and is intentional? :P

Looks good!

Bah, so many words flying around... ek... ok, trying to add some creative vision.
First, if you wanna comic-style character, than you on the right way. Just fix the right arm and hair. Second, if you wish to draw ultra-high quality super-professional cheap-ass pin-ups, than you need more work! I'm not a gfx guru - it's only my humble opinion, so you can read my blah or skip it.
You've nicely catch the pose, lookin' good. Anatomy is ok (exept the right arm). Next, shading is too light and simply. Humans bodyes are not filled with one skin-color only from foots to head. Just look at mirror (are you really look like that ? ). Draw from life more! Enough i think?
Anyway good attempt Kat, keep it up! Let's see what you'll show next.
/Leo
