remember that old "Apples" themed draw club a couple years ago? I decided to do some more work on the piece I did for it.
old crappy thing: http://bprince.com/ApplesRevised.html
less crappy new version:
there was more that I wanted to do with it, but I wanted to get it submitted for the Expose 3 book, and the deadline is tonight, so I had to wrap things up. Not a stellar piece, compositionally, but I'm happy with parts of it. In retrospect I think the grass would've been better if it'd been more golden and less green . . . I may still tweak on it some down the line. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

It's a nice piece b. You could work on it some more and submit it to that "Aphordisia" art annual. I think the deadline for that is not until the middle of April sometime. I am working on a piece sporadically for that one too.

Thanks FT.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. Bang on it a little more and submit it for that (got their announcement a few weeks ago)
Hey, remember Justin Evans?

Nonono, I just remember that the page you put up about him was my first encounter with you. I almost worked with him, back around the same time you did. No idea what he's up to now. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Hi Brian.
I like how you tend to do natural girls. (as does Sir Mixalot.....)
You have a good sense of colour.
However, I think the entire image is kind of flat. The hill, the log, the foilage. That bugs me a wee bit. Perhaps by lightening the omni light, and doing some soft shadows under the rock, where the image is the flattest, you could combat this? Same thing in the crown of the tree.
My thoughts.

I absolutely love the pic, really. It has such a nice mood.
The girl is lovely and your colors are just wunderful. Unique style and picture.
Keep up the good work Brian! |

Sukhoi: Thanks for the feedback. I agree about the flatness . . . I wanted to totally re-paint the tree, as well as put a fallen log in the lower part of the image, but I ran out of time. I might still make those changes, and work on the value range some more. By the way, I cruised your site the other day . . . I'd forgotten how much ass you kick. Great stuff man.
Max: Thanks! I'll try . . . been sick lately *cough* . . . tough to find the will to paint when I'm not feeling good. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

I have to say that one boob seems a bit bigger then the other. But that might be because of the direction she is leaning, causing gravity to make it look bigger then it really is.... ![Rolling Eyes](images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif) |

I really like this.
Yarik, I think the reason one boob looks bigger than the other, is because her arm is stretched upright, which pulls the chest muscle along with it... |
