Yep, I'm open to all suggestions besides the fact that the lips are way to round and look flat. ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

I got nothing, just keep working on it. Love the colours so far! |

Done using reference or no?
I think you've done really well with this thing at the moment. Seems to me you've been working ont he planes of the face from left to right to complete this thing. The lips for me work. They need a little refinement, but the picture is incomplete and it still works well witht eh rest of the facial features.
Although the technique that you're using is not really the reccomended way of working, you seem to be working with it well for me to change the way you do things. Keep going and we'll see how you progress along with this. _________________ "It's not the tools you use but how you use them that counts." |

Thanks The Real Mark and faeklone. I'm definitely not done using reference. Faeklone, expain to me why my methods of working are not recommended, please. I'll keep everything you said in mind. |

Well, the way you're taught how to do a drawing or a pinting is to go and set basic values or colours first over your sketch to give you a sence of how a thing is interacting with other elements in a picture. Plus it lets you finish the piece as an overall event rather than piece by piece. The piece by piece method is one that really doesn't work to well, usually when dealing with the background. It becomes an afterthought in the process and therefore not as much attention to detail is put uopn it. I say that for you it wouldn't matter because it seems to be going well. you may hit trouble when it comes to the hair or the background, but otherwise it seems to be going good for you. _________________ "It's not the tools you use but how you use them that counts." |

Ohhh, yes I see what you mean now. I probably should lay down the basic values first, because I'll probably get too lazy to even do the background. Thanks for feedback. |
