I really like those, very... kinetic. Great sense of motion in many of those. |

the ones I like are the first and the fifth ones. They show more knowledge of what the light is doing and how everything is affecting the scene. They could also have been done using refence and that is why they show that. The fifth one looks like charcoal. Was it done in charcoal and then painted in the computer?
Anyway, the other one I like is the yellow girl with the blue monster behind her. Using a couple of tones you really give a good sence of volume. That is kinda what I feel is missing form the rest. Although all of them have a great feel because of the looseness of the mark making. I think the three I pointed out are getting towards a better understanding of light and how to use it in shading. You seem to be starting to use it on some of the other pieces, but I don't feel that it's as apparent. In fact the only thing that bugs me about the girl done in yeallw is why her body was done so well, and her face wasn't.
I say keep this looseness up, but never forget how to show that the people or pieces of your picture actually inhabit space. Light hits them in some way, may as well show it even if it takes more than 2 shades of a colour to do so. _________________ "It's not the tools you use but how you use them that counts." |
