Hi All

Do you do your perspective work in Painter/Photoshop? Or do you draw/import the perspective elements?

1) what cg tools are best for perspective elements, where the end result is to be an illustration in Painter/Photoshop

2) what tools do you use to do high presision mechanical lines: architectural, mechanical, extremely regular curves and the like, where the end result will be in Painter/Photoshop.
( that is: Painter/Photoshop end result - "excluding" pre-production tools)

Are their any tutorials - not in perspective per se, but in its use in respective CG tools. I know that 3d tools provide great power in this area - but I am thinking also of an exclusive 2d workflow.

Thanks
Gord MacDonald

I can answer question number two if you have Painter version 9 you can Align curve to a path to get those crisp mechanical lines you were talking about, but if you have earlier versions of Painter then like Photoshop you would have to build path curve and then stroke them. I hope that answers that question

-------------------------------------------
Painter 7 + 8 + 9:
for 1-,2-point perspective

Canvas
___-> Perspective Grid
_________-> Show Grid
-------------------------------------------
Photoshop:
nothing similar, but maybe there are some plugins.
-------------------------------------------
The best way:
do it on your own (and learn at that time). Smile
-------------------------------------------

Edit:
Ah, forgot somethin:
try this:

and watch for Loomis books on fineart.sk
especially this:
