Ubb apparently doesn't like the space in the filename. Use "%20" instead of a space when entering the url.
Anyway, about the painting, I think the mandarine looks a little too matted now. Some shine on the surface would help. |

Thanks AFFECTED, that's the first time it happens to me (I usually insert spaces in my filenames).
Thanks a lot for the observation about the shininess of the tangerine. _________________ _ _ _____ _ _

The painting seems blurred in some places but sharp in others. I thought you might be attempting to recreate some sort of photographic depth-of-field effect but it doesn't appear to be focused on a certain place and gradually unfocusing further from that. The framing of the tangerine and the peel could have been done better perhaps? _________________ It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice - Scooter |

Well, I modified some things after all the constructive critics I have received:
* Added some bright points to the surface
* Increased contrat
* Added some edges in some zones.
Thanks all for your help...

ok overpaint time and it is a quick one so nothing special, hmm felt weird trying out wacom-magic again.
yes as mentioned above try to retrieve the mixture of hard and soft edges, cold against warm and dark against bright. I have been experimenting with this with my wc's at the moment and if succesful this adds to the works you are doing.
I saw that post you did in the digital art discussion and a tip from me would be that try to be as hard to yourself as possible, yea I know this doesn't work for everyone but if you keep expecting more from yourself you will be more picky about things and will see more errors.
One of my teachers teached us that it is important in art to do a piece of art every now and then and then try to destroy it, not literally destroy but overwork in that sence that the picture no longer will work. The meaning of this is that then you will teach yourself how far you can go and how far you can't go in the painting that you do, this was mostly concerning wc painting but I like to apply this to all kinds of mediums and that is why experimenting is so important. If you haven't tried it out u cannot be for sure about how far you can take things.
So, back to that overpaint. Go for even stronger values and u will have more depth, I guess I overdid it here and maybe I am not helping at all but hopefully something helped you out.
Also watch the progress in the navigation for your pictures, this way you have an overview all the time during the painting process. I added one more pic to show you my navigation setup, a little bit bigger than usual and it worked pretty good back when I did digital painting.
ok keep it up and have a nice day.

Wow, thanks a lot Matthew. It is a compliment this overpaint, coming from someone who has stepped from the newbie category to a really skillful artist in so short time, just by working hard, and not losing faith in himself at any time.
About the edges I find them really hard to work. I don't know when to keep them and when to let them vanish. I think maybe I put them in the wrong places, but there seems to be no strict rule about that.
Again, thanks a lot, that background is definetely much better... _________________ _ _ _____ _ _
