I find myself in a position to get a new monitor to replace my old 19" one that has gotten stuffed at the dark end due to old age. I'm having trouble finding any reviews of crt monitors now, since it seems everyone's concentrating on TFTs. I want a CRT though, mainly because I'm working on a limited budget (200-300/$) and I want the best image quality I can get for the money. Most TFTs I've seen also seem to have trouble reproducing the dark end, they're too bright.
So, if anyone has recommendations for a good display in the price range mentioned, I'd appreciate any help. |

Hmh.
Is that a normal price for a 22" monitor over in the US? Here it seems the lowest price for that viewsonic is over 600 euros... Insane price difference. |

$600 is the standard price in the US as well, but I surfed pricewatch for you to find the cheapest out there. Only new, unopened, products are listed on Pricewatch, so if the monitor does not work then it should fall under factory warranty. Monitors typically cost $50 to ship domestically, but it will probably cost as much as $150-$200 to ship to you in Finland, so it will end up only being slightly cheaper than the average available to you. _________________ http://prettydiff.com/ |

You can pick up old 19" Hitachi monitors pretty cheap ($150-250) on several electronics clearinghouse sites. Hitachis are an extremely underrated monitor line.
Dunno about getting products to Finland though. _________________ HEY YOU! We're looking for a few good pixel artists |

Well, it seems I might be able to get a used Sony CPD-E530, which is a 21" trinitron screen for 300. Does anyone by any chance have any experience with these? It seems it's now a discontinued model, the guy selling it says it was made in 2002 and has been used "a few months", whatever that means in the end. |

i highly recommend viewsonic. all of their monitors have won awards and are around $2-300 from their website, although pricewatch.com was able to find their 19" A90f for around $175... i've been using one and it's got beautiful color, no problems (similar to a90f).. only drawback.. it is a little large in the back, but it's also 19"
