A character I am working on, right leg and arm, chest and bow (hell almost everything as I list them) are unfinished.

I'm thinking the design looks pretty cool. It reminds me of a predator with a mask on. Keep it up. |

first glance I mistook the backpack/antenna as part of the city in the background, I guess because the shapes are very similar, emphasized by the three verticals (counting the needle-like point at his neck)...obviously the values (foreground and background) are *very different*, so I don't know why I had to consciously separate the backpack from the city; if you see what I mean (maybe no one will), I'd suggest varying the protrusions on the backpack...also the curvature of the forward edge of his left leg (at right) seems off; I'd bring the part of his leg at the very bottom edge of the picture forward a bit to make a straighter line...
other than those two points, I think it ROCKS
Edit: *ping* [light comes on]; it reminds me of a Traveller character I played; can't recall the race, but his main weapon was a bow, 800-pound pull, and 'skrith' arrows...
Oh: where's his quiver? |

Looks good, although I don't like the way it 'fuzzes' out as you move down the picture.
You have a strong focus on the head but it kind of fades as you go down the illo, kind of like you lost interest - I think it's your tonal value, you have strong blacks in the head but nowhere else.
His left hand (the one without the bow) looks a little awkward.
Apart from that it looks cool! |

ahhh!! On the first picture I saw it a little bit, and then the second picture confirms it! The skull! I personaly think that the skull is realy corney, it always reminds me of a few certain bad 80's sci fi movies. Other than that pet peeve of mine it's looking realy good. keep it up! _________________ I just realised that my screen name is Wagner, but my last name is Wagner, I'm not making any references to anyone. |

The first glance made me think "LotR fanart". But then I shook my head and looked at it again. If the head would be more orcish-like he would look exactly like the bowman-orc in the end of the first movie.
I don't know what else to say more than that. Real good schitz maybe ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) _________________ Some people are bad. That is because many people are better. |

Thanks for the comments all. I wont probobly work on this piece any more as it was more of a learning piece, but I'll show you the last version.
Oh and I agree about the skull, it went thru a million revisions and I got tired of it. My new concept work should be much more interesting.
Cheers all and happy New Year!!!! _________________ not "smallpox" I said "small box" |
