Hi there.
Im really amazed by the quality of the works here. And the amount of these.
I feel so small but well maybe I can get some suggestions.
Im a 3dmodeller/animator but doing some 2d from time to time to explore more fields in art and its always refreshing to try different things.
This painting is based on a photograph I found over the net. I dont know who the copyright holder of this photo is so I cannot post it here.
Im not so happy with the result so far. Well I like the face but the whole body somehow looks strange. The pose is the same as in the photo but it doesnt work in my painting.
It may be too flat at the moment (the body I mean) and let it look unfinished. Or maybe some of the proportions are off.
I try to stay away from this picture for a couple of days so I can see it with fresh eyes.
I would enjoy if someone can give me a few tips/comments to improve this painting. I really want it to work.
-Manuel

I think the big thing about this picture is that it feels like you didn't measure everything correctly when you first started off. The proportions are all off and that's what's making it look funny. The head is too big for the shoulders, the hips look odd in placement with the rest of the body. My suggestion would be to go back and make sure that the way everything is laid out in the origional picture is the same as what you have there. If you have to use her head as a reference. How many of her heads until I should hit this or that point. If you take the time to do that at the start of a piece, then it just gets easier to see the results when it's done. _________________ "It's not the tools you use but how you use them that counts." |

Nice face, too bad things are out of proportion though, as allready mentioned.
Unless she's suposed to have a giant right bottom-cheek that is _________________ DeadbeaT was here |
