Hi!
I'm having trouble lighting up this hover bike, especially at the sides.. how can I do that without adding another lightsource? I'm trying to get a metallic, reflective surface. The sources present now are the two streetlights.

very cool, i'm loving the concept here... i can't wait to see the completed version.
EDIT: I'd like to see some figures in the background, to show how far away the hovership is from that platform. |

I can't really tell what street lights you're talking about and I'm confused about that purple light. And engine of some sort? If I were you I'd make a little console on the hovercraft that would emit a small amount of light. It is adding another lightsource, but you could make it faint enough to keep the contrast. With just light from the top right it might just be dark. Although, if you added a wall or something, maybe some garbage cans, or anything really on the left of the bike, it could reflect some light back on it. |

Odds: Thanks! Good idea, I put a guy there (It's supposed to be the driver..) good luck on your time without the computer.
Mega Muffin: The streetlights were the one's on either side of the bike.. maybe that didn't read too well... The purple stuff was supposed to be a front light.. Tried to put some console light there, I think it helped I'm not sure I want to add any more objects.. afraid it might clutter the scene.. thanks for commenting!

It's been a while now.. lost my motivation for a while. I tried to improve this one, but I think I'm going to trash it and move on to someting else... this is the last try.

that looks pretty good. the rendering on the seat is nice. of course if you want more light on the sides, just put it there. maybe a subtle greenish light bouncing of the ground up onto the side/bottom of the bike. just a thought. _________________ ozan |
