left isn't finished but this is proly as far as im gonna go.
done with mouse and artrage in ~4 hrs.
im aware of shakey lines and wrong perspective on green prism thing in front, but it would take too much work to fix with the mouse.
tips anybody?
c&c welcome but it's doubtful i'ill fix any problems |

ah, it's not THAT bad.
If you kept rendering and sharpening things up, it would have looked real nice. The reflections/refractions seem to be correct, except for maybe the blue liquid reflecting onto the desk.
Nice job, nonetheless. |

sadly, it doesn't get much sharper than that with artrage and a mouse.
the smallest brush just isn't small enough |

Oh, I had no idea the brush would only go that small in ArtRage. I just sketch in it sometimes. Great job then. |

i think the problem is that you didn't paint what you really saw. when painting sth as difficult as glass, try to imagine just copying a splatter pattern from reality.
this is probably not too good a painting but i think it illustrates my point. look at the glass vase and you will see i did not paint it at all, but just the big blobs of color i saw there, when you have blocked in the big masses and made some of the edges softer you're nearly finished
hope this helps |

yeah, ur right. I think I used too much white for the outlines of the glass objects, making them look really fake. I also drew in grey when I saw patterns confusing to draw.
your right about glass being hard, but I drew it cuz I thought it looked interesting to paint .
ps: bottle on left and little prism thingy out front were actually plastic
I think im gonna finish up a bit just cuz people bothered to give me feedback (sometimes a rare thing at sijun). I don't have the objects set up anymore, but I think I can get the lighting close enough to do more work. My finger hurts...
thks for all the comments sayin it pretty good. I actually don't think it's good myself, but I do that a lot. |

everything sharpened except bottle on the left and part of keyboard. I think this is gonna be about as good as it gets. Thks for the tip about using pencil for touchup, I never thought of doing that. Helped me get in a lot of smaller details. completely redid lower left prism thing cuz first one was too fudged.
noticed color of wood not consistant across image... wood on left needs a lot more red
also notice the perspective on disk is off, o well.
I still think this thing looks bad...lot of shakey lines and in some parts the perspective is way outta whack.
you guys think its worth fixing yet again?
so far i've worked about 9 hrs on it.
any donations for a tablet? |
