I've heard stories of people developing stress from using a 4 x 5" tablet. Try stretching your hand for a few minutes before using your tablet for extensive amounts of time. Take breaks, etc. Listen to what your body is telling you. _________________ QED, sort of. |

A man who smelled like a distillery flopped on a subway seat next to a
priest. The man's tie was stained, his face was plastered with red lipstick,
and a half empty bottle of gin was sticking out of his torn coat pocket.
He opened his newspaper and began reading. After a few minutes, the
disheveled guy turned to the priest and asked, "Say, father, what causes
arthritis?"
"Mister, it's caused by loose living, being with cheap, wicked women, too
much alchhol, doing unspeakable perversions to little boys and a
contempt for your fellow man."
"Well I'll be..." the drunk muttered, returning to his paper.
The priest, thinking about the tone he had used, nudged the man and
apologeticly said, "I'm very sorry. I didn't mean to come on so strong.
How long have you had arthritis?"
"I don't have it father. But I was just reading here that the God damned Pope does." |

actually I've heart of people switching to tablets after getting wrist/arm problems from a mouse... I don't think a tablet should be more stressful than a pencil. |

1. buy diablo2
2. log on b.net
2.5 understand that sleep, food and job no longer matter
3. win 1.10 ladder in 2 months, 1 month after others started/from reset
4. during the play time, eat lots of painkillers and ignore the fact that your wrist will never work the same again. its just pain, after all, you'll get that deaths fathom drop soon!
5. become iron wrist of death with wacom! after 3 months of hurt, a simple drawing session won't even bother you.
while the above story is true, and is tried and proven in practice, in all seriousness, i'd say cts for one.. you're much less likely to start suffering from it with a big tablet with which you have to move your entire arm around tons. unless you do like i did, have 12"x12" but only map a 4"x5"-or-so area out of it and never move arm at all, just wrist. just try to avoid a tennis elbow! _________________ "hey, wanna dance?"

I'm using those gel filled wrist rest, one for mouse pad and a long one for keyboard. When I use the tablet my keyboard is pushed behind, and I have the long wrist rest alongside the left of the tablet so my left arm is resting on it when reaching for the keyboard. It can get uncomfortable at the elbow otherwise.. _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.

shouldn't have any trouble from the tablet the big horse..
if you're getting problems the i'd seriously look into your working practice.. are you taking enough breaks etc.. is there something about the way you use your tablet, do you have the pressure needed to paint set too high etc?
after 11 years of using a mouse, i got RSI from using Apples Puk mouse, even tho' i told my employeer at the time that a mouse of that size would give me trouble.. their response? sorry thats the only mouse we have.. after a few weeks of using the mouse, i complained that my wrist hurt etc. still nothing, so went to see the doctor and was told i had RSI, they soon bought me a proper mouse..
if its your hand all i can suggest is that your either gripping the pen to tight or applying too much pressure on the tablet.. take a break often (every 2 hours, difficult i know especially when your in mid flow)
OMG! a response from faust! |
