not really.
Just need to play around more.
Like you said, it's only your first try, so keep doing it and you'll learn as you go. |

just keep workin on it. only crit is to use more shadows. Her skin especially, right now it looks 2D cuz there isn't much lighting to it.
drawing from life is almost always the best kind of practice. Just draw random interesting objects like i've been doing . |

sounds good..life drawing is important and i know better (being a penciller) then to start a craft using cartoon linart...but its more fun!
how long does this normally take? cause it seems a bit tedious...is there somewhere i can pick up textures? ..better brushes? is photoshop the best way to max out potential? how much creative license does a colourer have? ....these are things i'm trying to find out...so i'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction. _________________ www.kidco.deviantart.com |

You've come to the right place to learn more. There is links on this website to as many tutorials as you'll need. The image looks great so far however, but I can't really give you any constructive criticism because manga isn't a stlye of art I've ever attempted. |
