I inadvertly stretched my Layer Palette when I was clicking some buttons which is a cool miistake because I hate scrolling up and down looking for layers in a multi layer arraignment . I didnt know that you could do this is with this version of painter. My question "how do I stretch or shrink the layer palette because again although I was able to do it I dont know how I did it? |

Go to Window > Arrange Palettes > Default to reset the palettes. _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.

If you don't want to reset you palette arrangement back to the default arrangement but just want your Layers palette back to the height it was originally:
First undock the Layers palette if it's docked with other palettes. To do this, click and hold on the blank area on the right side of the Layers palette name bar and drag it away from the other palettes.
Then, click and hold on the one pixel high area at the very bottom of the inner part of Layers palette, just above the row of icons, to the right of the icons, where the Layers palette frame meets the inner part of the Layers palette.
(If you're looking for a visible one pixel line there, you won't see one. You just have to find the row of pixels, by knowing where it's located.)
It may take a few tries before you can grab that one row of pixels but when you do, the cursor will stop changing to a Grabber cursor (hand) when you press down and it'll change to a white arrow cursor instead.
When it changes to the white arrow cursor, hold, then drag the bottom of the Layers palette upward until it won't go up any farther.
Then, you can resize the whole Layers palette (not just the inner part) by clicking and dragging the lower right corner to make it taller and wider, or shorter and more narrow.
If you haven't already, when you have your palettes arranged the way you want them, use Window > Arrange Palettes > Save Palette Layout and give it an appropriate name.
Any time you want to get your palettes back to that arrangement, use Window > Arrange Palettes and choose the name of your palette arrangement from the list at the bottom of the flyout menu.

Yep, it is pretty hard to grab that one pixel row.
At least you now know how to avoid inadvertently stretching the inside of the Layers palette. Just stay away from that area and always be sure to click right smack dab on an icon.
Also, if you have a lot of Layers, undock the Layers palette, then click and drag the lower right corner of the Layers palette and resize it to leave enough space above that one pixel row so you won't hit it when trying to highlight Canvas.
