This is a concept I've had rolling around in my head for a while. I know it's been done and visualized many times, but this is my take. Plus, the concept just seems to make a lot of sense to me. A small mining comunity based around a particularly iron-rich impact crater. Hope you enjoy. C&C are always welcome.
Here's a detail of the place:

Look nice.
I think it's worth spending a bit more time on, it's finish and then again. Want to see some more of the city in the foreground. And the stars, less color and add more "depth". _________________ Yeah man but it's a dry heat... |

The foreground, ie the planet seems too flat. Maybe you could build more contrast there? Love the details though especially the lightning. Great work _________________ Window to the Outside... |

Is it just me, or is that Superman? Oh, I see, it's probably a space vessle or something, but at first glance....is it a bird? a plane? lol Really nice work. I like the electric effect, like those balls that make your hair stand up. |

The shield generators with the turrets on them in the foreground could do with sharpening up around the corners. There's a great dusty stone structure architectural style throughout this image.
IMO, it could do with more familar mining features because it looks just like another space city. Some lunar ore-carrying vehicles running along the surface and a refinery with visible pipes, tanks and maybe chimneys could get that across. _________________ www.high5art.com |

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Fiend, I agree, all the color in the stars is bugging me too, I'll try to give it a little more depth, little specks and maybe a planet or something back there.
Thanks DhamonZ, I'll try a little texture there, I'm trying ever so hard to balance detail with not taking away from the focal point.
MegaMuffin, thanks, and yeah that little thing needs some attention.
High Five, great idea on the mining vessels and such. Thanks. |
