This is my first time to ever post here, Im more than a little intimidated by the lovely work here but hopefully lots of constructive critism can help that.Im a part time foundation art student( I havenevver had any art training whatso ever as I was home schooled and never took art beyond grade 4)and iI am in the process of just learning all the basics of art. These are my first two photoshop pictures,I am more used to pencil/charcoal and paper but am fast falling in love with it. Any critiques will be greatly appreciated.By the way the horse was just started today and isnt finished when done ill have the whole body and hopefully in color. The girl was done really quickly in color so its not good at all but i had to hand in homework in color really quick and , as of yet havent had time to finish.anyhoo the novels done , haha so fire away:)

those er really awesome. i must say i like everything about them. of course things could be changed, but that's all up to what you want to do with your pics. you could make them more realistic or take a more comic route. i really don't know enough about your style to give you any good advice, but from what i see, i like. it's nice having you on the forums, and keep up the good work.

Very nice for a beginner.
The horse's muzzle and nose are good work,
but everything from it's left eye back, seems
to fall apart.
The girl's legs don't seem to have much volume.
Also the crotch needs more detail and she needs
much bigger hooters. Maybe like volleyballs.
But then you wouldn't notice the crotch. So I guess
I'd leave the crotch the way it is and concentrate
on the hooters. |

First of all, welcome ot the forums
Anyways, I don't know whether it's me or not but the legs seem to be off from the body. It seems to me the legs are from near a frontal view, whereas the body is slightly twisted. Not entirely sure about it though
I quite like the horse however. Overall nice work |

good stuff!
re: the girl. i think the problem is that her hips are missing. she goes straight from stomach to legs. as rec|use said, her crotch is seen from the front and it's almost like we're looking at the underside of her crotch. her pelvis would have to be pretty unnaturally angled to manage that with her torso positioned as it is.
draw her again, maybe, just a few fast sketches to see if you can get a better feel for her figure and form before you start painting in and working on the detail. I find that stick figures help alot. you can quickly sketch out 15 or 20 of them and see which proportions and postures work more effectively.
