Does anyone know of any cheap and cheerful animation software?
I just want something to take out the pain of saving hundreds of images in photoshop and opening them as an image sequence.
Some shareware or cheap thing that lets me flip between frames and ghost the preceding frames. I think, from early days using dabbler, it was called onion skinning. Maybe some simple object based stuff so you can create scrolling backgrounds or whatnot.
Anything out there?
Thanks :) |

Ahhhh I miss the good ol' times of Deluxe Paint on the Amiga.
I know you can do it with Flash, with a tablet you can do varying lineweight, you can flip pages and have a sort of light table. There should be a tutorial for it, I dont remember much but it wasnt hard to setup. You have the advantage of easily displaying it onto the web. _________________ "I'm not a shrimp, I'm a KING PRAWN !" -- Pepe.

yeah, and I never liked flash anyway.
Without any software, making an animation on a computer is not much easier than making one with pens and pencils. |

Have you considered morphing programs. Not exactly automatic animation but they do fill in the blanks between two pictures. Many good but free ones available. |

Aahh, that was dumb.
I forgot to say: I'm using a Mac.
That Moho thing is available for mac. I'll have a play until runs out.
Don't laugh, but cheap for me means the sort of coinage I could hold in one hand :P |

blender is the best peice of free 3d software I have ever used. It has a steep learning curve (not as steep as it used to be though), but it's amazing for being free. I've been using almost since the beginning (4.5 years??). This is for 3d animation/modelling though, i'de look to flash for cheap 2d animation. |
