I have a really hard time drawing straight lines on the computer. I also have a hard time drawing clean lines, and have no experience with cartoon shading. I know that nothing about this cartoon is good (except for the fact that it's helarious of course ) so if you have done this type of thing before and can offer me some advice, I would really appreciate it. Oh, and varying line thickness, I'm not so sure one where to do that either. Thanks in advance! |

practice is the best tip anyone can give. Drawing from life seems to help the most. Drawing from life will help with anatomy, perspective, lighting, and a host of other thinhgs.
if you don't have a tablet you should definitely get one to do any serious drawing on the computer. A good midrange tablet is the Wacom 6X8 Graphire 3.
If you don't have Painter or Photoshop you should probably get one of those too. A free alternative is to use Artrage or The Gimp, but these programs are much more limited.
I also noticed you saved the file with a .txt extension???? This is a text extension, and most browsers will probably get confused and just display a bunch of grabage. Save your images as jpegs, pngs, or gifs.
Looking at a hex dump of you file I can see you saved it as a .gif, why it has a .txt extension puzzles me though. |

I saved it as txt so it would show up when I posted it in this forum. I forget who told me to do that, but it works, so, yeah...
I have the exact tablet you recommended and photoshop. Guess I just need more practice then . Thanks for the reply. |
