*edit* - Updated pic with more details, still very early stage though.

My goal is to make the scene really sad with lots of emotion, like he just lost everything. Is there any other ways to show this besides facial expressions?

C&C are very welcome Very Happy

I have worked some more on the characters today, I'll post it as soon as Im done. However Im having some problems with the background, I dont know If I should let it be as it is or add something more to it, it's a kind of big area around them that is just... empty. Maybe that good, I dont know. Help me out please Smile

Thanks Capt. Fred, love your work Smile

Now that is a really interesting opinion, would you mind explaining why? I think I can learn a lot from that. I have some ideas of what you mean but some pointers would really help.

Also here is the latest version, Im kind of afraid to post it cause it's probably even worse if the common opinion is as you say, well anyways...

The girl looks a sif she's sleeping in the 2nd and 3rd versions. The rain is more dramatic in the 1st pic, the guy doesnt look as neat as 2nd and 3rd pic so he looks more 'at loss' than the next 2 versions.

I lke the first one too.
The face in 2 and 3 look like a street mime.
Loose the rose, it's too cliche'.
Loose the two red ribbons at her back, they're too distracting.

You might try closing his eyes. ... he just can't bear to look at anyghing anymore...

Thanks for all your help Very Happy
I put this project aside after that last version and started with something else, with all the changes that had to be done I figured a fresh start would be better.
However, I will use everything that you have said for my new project.
