Okay I have a few questions and figured I'll make one post instead of like 50 million single ones.

1) Anyone know online where I can download ebooks (prefer for free) of Macromedia and Adobe Bibles. Problem is is that I can't P2P or FTP... heck I can't even get on Battlenet or sony's server (EverQuest).... I LOVE CAMPUS TECHS! ! ! ! So I need an website that might have a pbf file or something like that that I can just download.

2) After reformatting my suite-mate's Dell I have decided to get a Mac as my laptop, but what really is the difference better iBooks and Powerbooks? All I get from the mac tech is, 'about $500."

3) Those who use macs do you also use an antivirus software? If so what?

4) You favorite P2P and/or FTP software?

5) Anyone who has an iPod... is it worth getting? Looking at getting an iPOd Mini.

Hum think that's all I have right now... So if you can answer one or all it would be great.

Thanks in advance.

1) adobe bibles are useless.
2) powerbook is better.
3) stay away from the internet. internet is satan. so you wont be needing antivir.
4) stay away from the internet. internet is satan.
5) it's okay.

AND THIS IS THE TRUTH!! Very Happy

1. What Lite Said. Reading makes you dumb.

2. If you asked me personally I'd probably tell you the same thing the Mac Tech did...so I'll just agree with Lite.

3. You don't need AntiVirus with a Macintosh because there aren't enough of them to make an attack on. It's like harassing the homeless for money.

4. Hotline is probably the only worthwhile mac p2p program on the planet. Atleast, if you're not a cheap-ass(which you are since you're trying to bootleg everything) and actually share files back you can get onto private servers where the good stuff is.

5. It's a small fragile carry-around hard drive, that will die faster than your computer and it costs as much as an E-Machine. Fuck that.

little old ladies! spoken like a true, i don't have any viri on my Mac, yeah sure run your norton disk doctor on it if you like.. oh i've got 3 on it??

when i used 2 b the trouble shooter @ an imaging bureau the amount of them i used to find on peoples SyQuest 44, 88, EZ Flyer, Zip, Jaz, CD (and not PC related viri), they'd sware blind that they didn't have 1 on their mac..

all u get from your tech guy is $500?? didn't he mention that iBooks have a smaller screen?

if i were to personally want to buy an Apple Laptop i'd have to go 17" Powerbook, because for some reason Apple has taken it apon itself to ship their range with gash resolutions! my laptop 14.1" screen displays 1400x1050.. not 102x768! ffs can't put anything on that res, i'd be forever hiding and unhiding pallets to work! even the 17"widescreen model only goes to 1440 x 900 like F@ck thats 40px more than my 14.1 and 150 less than my 14.1! Apple users have been given a bum ride on laptops for so long now..

If you got an Imac because you need the ipod, you dont. PC's work fine with IPOD. But honestly, I have seen tons of other mp3 players that are 100-200 dollars cheeper and that hold 2 or even 3 times what an ipod holds--->
Take a look at this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1077626018189&skuId=6399523&type=product
it has 40 gigs and is only $269 compared to the ipod which is $500

What are you talking about? You can get an Ipod (iPod? ipod?) for free, dude.

For free.

Dell sells a 15 gig mp3 player for like, 180 bucks. Take the money you save from the difference and buy some nice headphones, preferably Sony or Sennheiser. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to spend a ton of money on a music player and then listen to it with cheapass ear buds.

2 years ago I bought a 20 gig Creative Zen Jukebox with a rebate and paid $250; at the time the 20 gig iPod was $500. The Zen player does everything an iPod does - data, music - and has firewire and usb connectivity.

Best $250 I ever saved.

Shop wisely.

I just bought an iPod 40gig through school for $369. The thing absolutely rocks, worth the money. My only problem comes with the fact that iTunes sucks. Trying to d/l all your music is a pain. iPod sorts files through the id3 tags, so if they're messed up it makes tons of directories to search through. I think it took me a whole evening to retitle about 3 cds of mp3s. Copying CDs over is a snap, though.

B0b: Quit it, you're ruining everything. I'm a PC user hoping Mac users will get more viruses and physically die.

The only reason apple or mac computers dont have nearly as much virus's is.... (drum roll) because it is not as widely used.

I'm getting a Mac Laptop because I have a PC already. I am choosen Mac because a lot of the schools around here are Mac and because I am becoming an Art Teacher thought it would be easier for me. I need a laptop so why not get the mac. So then I'll have both a Mac and PC.

As for the virus software the mac tech said not to waste the money... but what about a firewall?

I'm getting an ipod mini because I'm just making one big order from Mac. I know ipods can be used with PCs as well because I'm ordering one for my suitemate who has a POS Dell. And it is going to run her maybe $264

Impaler, Yeah am also going to get a good pair of headphones... I figured the ones that come with it would be crap.

which you are since you're trying to bootleg everything

Well considering I'm looking for something I can skim quickly to refresh myself with the software (after a few years of not using it you tend to forget somethings) I thought maybe there's be a site or something with quick walk throughs...It's like why pay full price for a movie when all you see is the credits? And yeah I bootleg that's why I have legal copies of my Adobe and Macromedia software.

And don't go Mac is better... PC is better crap. I use both so I know the perks and downfalls to both. I'm just not going to get a Dell...

Oh and Giant Hamster smile and don't be so nagitive...
