This painting was inspired by the title of a book by Douglas Adams: Long Dark Tea Time of the Soul. I haven't read the book yet (I was sorely tempted) because illustrating the book was not the point. The title in itself captured my imagination and I just had to create an image based on it. Hopefully, fans of Adams can see a hint of "homage to the master" in it, with the tea and space combination. And if you look closely there may be a few other things as well. Don't Panic!

Very nice piece of work! If I had to comment about anything, it would be the purpleness of the old man's jacket. I don't know, but it seems out of place. Seeing how there's a major light source on the other side it doesn't seem to match up. Then again, that's just a comment if I had to nit-pick . |
