Hey Adam!
I just have to point yout that you totally forgot about the horizon, there is no in this picture and that is what is making it hard for you plus cityscapes is haaaaard to make! also think of that grey buildings are always affected by the light so they will almost never turn out grey in the real world, try making just a few buildings first so you can concentrate on that part and getting light right, then after some practise start working at a cityscape, also keep in mind to try and paint the strokes as you would be "curressing" (petting??) the buildings, try to follow their form and don't make sketchy strokes in many different directions. hope the crits help some, keep going man after a few you'll be architecture visualizator guru man of the year!
Best

thanks flush. i do not, in any aspect, think this is a good painting. it was quick, not thought out, badly used color, horizon, etc. and was meant for the speedpainting thread. however, it did generate some good advice from a master such as you so now i do not feel quite so stupid about it. _________________ Life is only what you make of it. |
