Hey guys

In Painter 7 there was a feature that allowed for you to change the color of already applied line work. Im using the cover pencil and I want to change the line work color that is already on my sketch without doign it all over again or importing it to Photoshop to do a layer option to achieve the effect

What was the procedure you used in 7?
The only way I know is to have the line on a separate layer from the Canvas, so that you can select all on the layer and change the color with your favorite method.

A few ways you can change the line work color:

If your line work is on a Layer, check the Preserve Transparency box at the top of the Layers palette, choose a color, then use Effects > Fill.

If it's on the Canvas, use Select > Auto Select, Using: Image Lumininance then either:

Click inside the selection with the Layer Adjuster tool to lift the selection to a Layer, then change the color as described above.

... or ....

Choose the color you want the line work to be, then use Effects > Fill.
