my favorite of these is: http://www.bishoplynx.com/Sketch/lookinguo2.JPG
as you say, you're still exercising, but you do good.
1. the lips of the first one contrast with the rest of the picture, because the grade of detail is much higher.
2. a light study: the shadings on the persons face is too weak, i guess. the nose is really good.
3. the right one is really good! the frames of the glasses of the left person are to blurry. the nose shading is wrong.
4. i like ther atmosphere, but the skin of the person is too blurry, what produces the effect of roundness.
5. the expression of the woman is good, but it looks unfinished.
6. good one. the hand, the head and the skull is bad...
7. looks quite unfinished and ....
8. looks quite unfinished and ....
9. good! expect of the eyes the picture is really good. the eyes are to dark, a bit more contrast on the eyes would be good. |

I agree with dopefish.
That one image is my favorite too and the right head in #3 is good.
That is the direction I'd move in if I were you.
And I'd make some studies from reference. The proportions bother me in almost all of them.
They all look rendered sloppily.
I'd play with different approaches. Try drawing/painting more generic things.
Don't go for fancy effects like your hard-to-pull-off-lighting-situations. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |
