(i basically mixed in random textures (photos). then some few adjustment layer toning. random random random. and i mostly fuck it up, make it all messy. shitty colours. then a single tone of the pic saves it, heh. and since i fuck it up i'm too scared too try (and waste ~4 hours...))

hm, IM *humble* O...

what the second piece lacks overall is variety:
both pieces are too centered.. you look straight to the middle and that's it, the square canvas doesn't help either. i like the figure in the first piece, the abstract shape gives me a rest from all the letters... perhaps you could incorporate that into the second... like more of those black shapes on the right. also, give the overall forms some weight and flow... a lil less here, a lil more there... i like the effects you have going, but it all looks like not much care was put into individual areas, how they work as a part and for the whole.

this is a _super_ quick touch-up just to give you an idea..
