Hi,
I've realized that if there's one thing that an artist needs to master before producing a really good drawing is perspective. My problem is, how much does someone need to know about this subject so that in any cases of drawings, he'll encounter very less (or none) problems regarding it. I've read Andrew Loomis' Successful Drawing and the perspective part is really good but when it comes to objects that are tilted (and others such as recession of things in uneven intervals), this is were I feel that this source is insufficient. Can anyone please help me suggest what else do I need to know about it? THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!! |

If you have the basics from the loomis books down, then I think you should just look at the work by other artists ...
and analyze what they do with perspective.
I'm guessing you have problems with the proportions rather than the perspective itself!?
A head is too wide or a cup not round?
You have to estimate from time to time and have to be more accurate there!?
You know the subjects you want to draw well enough to draw them from any angle?
Craig Mullins said that you will be better at drawing something the more you know about it.
Prometheus|ANJ always stresses the importance of making studies as well.
Then just arrange them in proper perspective and make sure there is not too much distortion.
To pull that off you have to train your eyes. Draw from life and reference images.
Then you will be able to look at your sketches for bigger projects and find out what drags them down.
Check out those tutorials, too:

If nothing else the terminology might come in handy when you want to ask more specific questions. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |
