Hi there, I'm new to these forums but I must say I've learned a lot already from my time spent browsing around here.
This is a piece I did using Paint Shop Pro 8, of a guildmate in EverQuest. Critisism would be highly valued!

The rain around the left side and bottom is really distracting, looks like you tried a motion blur that did not cover the entire piece. Plus it seems a bit too constant thoughout, which is a bit unrealistic. Also, the moon is bugging me a bit, it seems to be casing some light, but all clouds are completely black, it is really just making the moon float in the top section and it is not doing much for the piece all together. I would suggest adding some of the clouds showing around the moon, catching its light. One more thing, and this may just be a compression thing, but some of the fade/glow is distracting. I would suggest actually painting the glows as apposed to using a filter to create them for you (like I said, I could be wrong, and if it is a compression thing, maybe something to look into.) |

Thanks for the advice! It's refreshing to be given constructive critisism for a change. Before now I've relied on friends and family for advice, who usually just tell me "Looks great!" which doesn't particularly help me advance my skills
Cheers mate
