Can anyone please give me any resources at all in drawing that are movie based? I've seen Gnomon workshops DVD's and I'm planning to invest in that! Also I've encountered Marshall Vandruff's movies as well. Anything else! THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!! |

Gnomon dvd's look really cool. IMO they are massively overpriced... and would sell more and earn more for gnomon if they were cheaper, but they certainly do look very good. A friend of mine showed me one of Feng Zhu's dvds. It was fantastic. I picked up so many tips from him and it was a cool insight into his process. It was above all extremely inspirational. |

Scott robertson's dvds are good, the rest aren't that useful if you actually want to learn someting. I bought a Ryan church dvd, It was cool at first but it doesn't teach you anythihng. and yeah they are WAYYY overpriced for what they are. |

Scott Robertson's were excellent. Really really good. I have the "Perspective & Form" one and the "Hovercraft" one.
My main gripe with the Ryan Church DVDs is that the video quality is awful, absolutely hideously blurry. That may be related to the problem of having to compress S-Video data output from the monitor. But it's still better to watch it in a window than full screen, but that's obviously no fault of his, it's a question of how Gnomon record the data.
They are also, as you say, very expensive. |

Has anyone seen the sculpture DVDs? I was think of getting some of those.
It really isn't all that expensive when you compare it to college credit though.

I bought the John Brown sculpture DVDs 1 & 2 and I found them to be very helpful and insightful. An excellent investment. I plan to purchase the rest of the set. I highly reccomend you get both 1 & 2 to begin with since #1 is building an armature, and #2 begins with sculpting the maquette. |

Truly, there has been no great revolution in the way people find things since perhaps when wise Dewey thought to numerate books 120 years ago. We have had, however, a Promethean gift passed down unto us in the last ten years. Entire seas of information are instantly available simply by entering in the name of the desired query. Time need no longer be wasted on other means of research, for this entity was truly omniscent. Organized, fast, efficient. Absolutely amazing, that search engine.
I'm partial to Google, Viisolidus. You might try it in the future.

yes there are, off the top of my head I would say 30% but don't quote me on that. To find out just go pass the first screen of purchasing and enter EDU as you promotional code and it should tell you the edu price. |
