Advice that was passed down to me:
Dont put space ships in your portfolio if you want a job at a game developer studio. Everyone does it. If you want to show of your modelling skills make something a bit more high polygon and unique. Try compress those Unwraps alot more aswell. The more area you can fit onto a texture map the better it will look.
