adding background, still in progress

those are ghostly nights, and there will be tombstones closer to/around the foreground if i can accomplish that

I'm liking the look of the overall picture a lot at the moment chief. I think the eyes could do with something adding to them though, I'm really not sure what. But they seem a lil' plain and dull.

So, here comes the big compliment - this reminds me a ton of Ian Miller's illustrations. It's flat, sure, but that's a good thing. It does mean however, that when you try to add a background in a more painterly style, the monster seems "tacked on". I think you're better off finishing the piece in that more illustrative style. Looks great!
