If you want to draw a series of straight lines in PS (by holding down the shift key) ... how do you get it to NOT connect the last straight line to the next. That's a great function if you're Zorro, and need to make a bunch of Z's, but otherwise....?
I seem to have to completely leave the brush tool and return to it. Just releasing the shift key and lifting the pen isn't enough to get it to stop zig-zagging to the next line I draw |

my lines always fade out when i use a pen, but they're solid when i use a mouse... turning off opacity dynamics doesn't help. what'm i doing wrong? or is that just how it works?

make sure fade is ticked off and also "pressure" in the options...
with the pen its drawing a line starting at the first opacity (pen press) to the second and if the second is lighter it will fade to it
