I guess The answer is too simple. Why i do see the light on the floor comming from the flashlite ? the light bouces of the floor like on the picture but why it reaches my eyes too !?
i feel dumb , thank you _________________ portfolio | art blog |

Because the floor, at a microscopic level, is a very rough, uneven surface (imagine all the atoms piled into jagged mountain ranges). This causes incoming light to be scattered in many directions. If you shined a flashlight at a perfectly smooth floor, no light would be returned to your eye, but even scientific-grade mirrors still have some microscopic roughness.
Here's a diagram illustrating what I mean: http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/optics/lightandcolor/images/reflectionfigure2.jpg _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

Once the light leaves the torch, it will generate reflections from the dust particles in the air even without any other reflection. You will definitely see that. |

Great image oDD! You improved a lot.
I think the right half of the image is a little boring.
Love the confident lines and the mighty laser beams from the eyes.
So diffuse light is the answer!?
I just noticed that I don't have a clue what ambient, reflected and diffuse light really is.
I only have a vague idea. Guess I'll have to look those words up again. _________________ http://www.conceptworld.org |

Hmm, an infinitely round sphere made of perfectly reflecting mirrors could likely bounce light emitted inside it forever. The only downside is that the light could never be seen, as it would impact on any kind of optical instrument and shatter the photons around and let them out of the sphere.
But what if light really HAS mass in its particle form, since its speed is below c (299,792,458 m/s) out of vacuum, depending on the refraction index of the substance/material it travels through? On top of this, black holes affect the path of light, since they are among, if not THE most massive particle gatherings in the universe. Impulse laws would come into play, and after an enormous amount of bounces, the light would slow down until it stops completely. Wouldn't that just be cool, light standing still?
Urgh. Nevermind. Listen to ballistic's explanation. I felt like ranting and making random assumptions for a moment there. _________________ What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

You know they actually have slowed phtons down to something like 20 KPH, experimentally. I read about it a couple years ago.
Also interesting is that, because the sun is so dense, photons created deep in its mantle may take a million years to reach the surface. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |
