Not sure if this has been talked about, but if your looking for some time to kill play around with ZBrush, its really interesting to use. Its like painting but in 3d (almost).

I like deep paint 3d much better....
check it out www.righthemisphere.com
deep paint supports max, lightwave, softimage and maya.
