Well I hate doing simple landscapes because I'd rather draw someone getting owned by a rocket launcher, but I did one anyways. All in soft, Rembrandt, pastel. That stuff is fun.
If you guys have seen a very similar photograph and are itching to burn me, here's the link to the other image so you don't have to scrounge the net for it.
I modified it enough to where I can't be called a whore I suppose. I really wish I was able to get that really green saturated grass so I could leech of this picture some more, heh heh. I really wish I tried harder to make this picture my own, what a waste. Ah well, tell me what you guys think. |

hehe
Really well rendered I must say, but, I think u lost some depth with making sunlight in the green grass there with the sun being behind the mountain and all, to me that looks a bit weird.
In the foreground yours looks much better with that more dense grass compared to that reference.
May I ask what size u worked on with this piece?
hope it is ok with the crit, thought I could tell u since u asked.
keep up the good work |

After a couple of minutes of trying to figure out what you meant by the sunlight in the picture I found what you were talking about! That was actually supposed to be yellow grass, now that you mention it, it doesn't make sense as to why I did that. It definitely makes it look like some funky angle of sunlight.
The picture was around 15x22, I think. |

I agree with dhood. I like the painted one better too. Matthew is right, there is something strange with the light, but still it doesnt disturb the depth feeling for me. It actually looks deeper to me than the ref, and also the painted look makes look better than the ref. Well done. |
