Some time ago I posted about this sphere city in the WIP thread.
i never finished the piece back then.
Sat down with it today and made something out of the original idea I had.
This is the outcome!
And it is a big huge error by itself....
(never go perspective without making a perspective grid for starters)
three of the scribbles...
Rip it apart.
It needs it!
I need it...

This one feels a little off because of how the city doesn't appear to be level.
The metallic texture on the sphere itself is nice though.
I think the top-down aerial view could be a really powerful image if you developed it more. _________________ brian.prince|light.comp.paint |

It kinda tees me off when somebody says they think thier work is an error.
Especially when it looks this good.... |

hey Petter I remember this sphere city piece and I remember I made an overpaint of it too, dang my itchy overpaint fingers.
Anyway, this is really cool I can't stop looking at it and especially the parts around the core cables cause those looks like frosty ice or something.
The idea itself is very cool aswell. Maybe some interior pics also, that would be cool to see.
keep up the good work and thanx for that pm again ![Smile](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |

edit: OMG OMG, I forgot to write that I really like the design of the city, an that I didn't mean to kill th hills in the overpaint. Also, the reflections on the sphere are nicely done and th colours used on the hills and the valley with the sea really fits, the sky is the only thing that really bother me
instead of wrinting lots of weird stuff you wouldn't understand, because I suck at explaining, I made an overpaint:
What I tried to do was to make it less busy, and to make it easier to read (me is very very obsessed with making things read atm, you might not want to take me too seriously )
what I did was to remove all that stuff in the sky, and make the background dark where the sphere is light, and light were the sphere is dark

No worries, thanks alot for the overpaint mate!
Yeah, reading my version is like reading a book without letters.
That's why I feel ogre over this painting.
You gave me strength to be more patient next time.
Thanks

Might paint another one with the same concept.
You'll see...

very pretty, i like the glimmer of the buildings, the only thing that seems off in my opinion is that the rings behind the first section of building seem wavy, mabe thats just me though. |
