I think I'm finally ready to call this "finished." As always, I'd like to thank the kind folks that gave preemptive comments and crits in the EK Training Grounds. The image below is a portrait of my friend, Nate's, character. It's based on his description which is as follows:
Quote: |
His name is Arkantos; he stands at about 6 foot 4 and is heavily muscled from head to foot. He has short dark hair and one lock of longer white hair in front, piercing blue eyes, and a crooked grin. He is clean-shaven with a strong jaw line and angry bushy eyebrows. He is garbed in adorned leather armor with the crest of a phoenix on his chest plate. At his waist hangs a variety of weapons, including but not limited to a battle mace, a long sword, and two daggers. He has a long bow and a quiver of arrows slung over his shoulders. He has a golden amulet on his left bicep, in the form of two snakes coiled about each other and swallowing each others tails. The eyes of one of one of the serpents are rubies, and of the other are emeralds. He has throwing knives sheathed in both wristbands, both of which are made of twisted leather straps infused with silver. Upon occasion he also dons a long black cape with a hood. Around his neck hangs an amulet, a deep lilac colored gem in the form of a sword set in a soft silvery lustrous metal, which glows of its own accord in the dark. His voice is deep and resonant and he is feared and respected by man and beast alike. |
Quite a description and it proved to be no little challenge. Your critiques, comments and suggestions are appreciated. I have yet to show the image to Nate, I want to make sure that everything is in order and that I have the "final" final version for that.

really nice work, its a shame that you lose so much detail with the size and perspective of the work |

Kitamard: Thanks. I do hope to do novel covers =)
Joe84: Thanks a lot. Yeah I know, I hate the loss of detail -but I still include it 'cause it does make the image look spiffy when I make prints. _________________
