This is pretty much a parody song.
7 minutes of techno clichs, overused rave samples and vile panning crammed into only 4 channels. Amen.
Some clarification, since a few have gotten confused by this:
By rave I'm refering to Oldskool Rave Hardcore. Early 90's.
By four channel I mean only 4 sounds can happen at one time. Therfor, no synthesis and no effects(unless it was present on the used wav sample itself.)
EDIT 5/17 - Updated the mp3. changed the link. shorter, smaller file: http://tha.trishock.com/Math/Hamster%20Alliance%20-%20Mathlidea.mp3 (right click, save as 4 ur health)
Thanks for listening. hahah. :P

Omigod rave flashbacks!
I really hated crappy electronic music like that back then. I was all into 808 State, Orbital, Young American Primitive, LFO...etc at the time, and frowned whenever I heard crap like 2 Unlimited.
I can't imagine you like this stuff either, so you must've done it for another reason--for a client? |

:D :D :D
Hi, Lunatique!
heheh.
Yeah, I never really got into this kind of stuff. Especially the more happy hardcore rave styled crap with the bright pianos and cheese.
I liked The Prodigy a lot, which was this style at the time. Other than them I listened to stuff like Aphex Twin, FSOL and Atari Teenage Riot. later got into the whole westcoast breaks, Jungle and Trip hop thing.
Man, I couldn't stand orbital though! The only song I liked of theirs was Halcyon, but it was mostly just my attraction to the vocal - it's just so fucking cool. :D
2unlimited was the WORST EVER. I can't emphasize that any more. WORST.
I did this song for fun though haha. The songs that got me into making music in the first place were 4-channel .MOD files. Made in ProTracker. I got addicted and started tracking. A lot of my first songs, which I still have a few of, are 4 channel like this. so I still find it fun to go back and make songs like this. Nostalgia. :D |

Actually, I didn't really become impressed with Orbital until Snivilization. The few few tracks sounded nothing like their previous works, and really blew me away. The Middle of Nowhere was very nice as well. The box was ok. I HATED The Altogether. What a crappy album. The first 2 albums were just ok. Diversions was kind of a waste.
I'm about to dive back deep into music soon. I just need to settle back down after the move. Just got some new music software that I'm dying to try out too. Can't wait! |
