Hello!

I just returned from a nine day vacation in Barcelona! The main reason for the journey was to see my very good friends I haven't been able to meet in a while and have a good time, which definitely happened. Since my friends are artists too and other one of them (Fthr, some of you might know him.) was having vacation during the time I was there, we ended up spending quite much time wandering around the most beautiful and inspiring places of Barcelona with our sketching equipment with us. Here is some of the stuff from our sessions. These are not any serious work in a sence that they would have been planned or there would be any stress involved. They were made just for having fun of drawing pictures. Some of them were left more unfinished than the others.

These two were my first pictures I made during my trip. If I remember right, they were done after coming home from the city. The weather was cloudy so we ended up drawing inside. I've been thinking of doing a finished version of the first one of these to a big canvas, but I'll still have to figure out the best medium for it before I start. The second one is just a quickie.

This one was made after coming back from a huge Dali exhibition. It is now hundred years after Dali's birth so there are these things happening in Spain. I was glad to give this picture to my friends, when they asked if they could hang it in their guest rooms wall. (Which, by the way, is full of many very nice pictures, made by them.)

This was done in a bar named after a famous Spanish tourist resort Benidorm, where we met a few other friends.

This was started in the same bar a few hours (and drinks) later the same night. Fthr added the pointillism thing into the picture and the things in the bigger guys hair. Next day in a park I continued the picture correcting all the last nights drunken and shaky lines as good as I could. It's bad you can't erase ink. Wink The smaller guy looked liked Adolf Hitler at some point, but I decided to change it later.

This was a co-op picture with fthr in the park. It was a very nice and sunny day. You can see the influence of the place, I'm sure. I had started the picture by drawing a couple of treethings and thought that I had fucked it up, but Fthr continued were I had left and managed to make it into much nicer picture after a few hours of shading, correcting my drawings and adding lots of more subtle form and completely new stuff into the picture.

It was a lazy sunday in the same park, which was this time full of hippies when this was made. It was a happening made out of all kinds of spontanious activity. People playing instruments, juggling, drumming, smoking and taking it easy etc. Very nice atmosphere in the place everywhere you went in the park. Fthr had started out a drawing with some abstract and cool looking outlines in my sketch book, which inspired me to transform into an octopussy.

This was done in a different park, which had lot's of Gaudi's architechture. Also a co-op picture with fthr. It was left into the middle of the process. Maybe it will be continued someday.

I don't remember where this cat was done. Probably in more than one place. It's mostly done by fthr. I don't think I did much more than contributed a little bit to the background.

I made this in the evening after eating a great meal. We were smoking, drinking red wine and moscatel, listening to good music, talking and having a great time at the same time while drawing.

This was done a different night, all at ones. It took several hours to complete. Fthr was playing with photoshop at the same time. This time I guess we were both quite absorbed in hour work for the most of the time. It was the night of my second last day in Barcelona. My journey back home would start in the after noon the next day.

There are some pictures left which I didn't post, most of them unfinished. Fthr did many pictures too, but I think it is better that he posts them if he likes and comments them as he sees fit. I'm sure he'll post them if there is anybody interested in the topic after my spamming.

All comments are welcomed!

i definately think the colored ones were more captivating...i like the first one the most--ones like the last one with a lot of black works but some other one's should be filled in more...i like the styles on these and you can definately identify culture behind them..

Thanks for commenting, Insider. I agree with your critic about adding more stuff to some of the pictures, though I think most of these pictures will remain just as sketches. Otherones I'm thinking of developing further digitally or with some other medium.
