Shougen actually means testimony/evidence in Japanese, so
I'm assuming that you mean the 2 types of manga:
Shonen ---> means boy, and is generally comics for boys.
Shoujo ---> means girl, and is generally comics for girls.
However, both types can be read by anyone.
The manga collection Shonen Jump would probably be the simplest example of a Shonen manga, and it would include Naruto, Dragonball, Shaman King, Yu Gi Oh, and other 'action' oriented plots.
As for Shoujo manga, any thing by the female exclusive CLAMP could be discussed. X/1999, Cardcaptors, and Rayearth are all made by CLAMP. Typically speaking Shoujo manga deals more with 'character' driven plots.
Hope this helps, although its not really something that you have to worry about when reading manga. _________________
