Here's something that's been gathering dust on my hard drive for a long old time. It started out as a pencil drawing for Dungeon Keeper II, around 1996/97, and I've only just finished it! I can't see the woods for the trees with it anymore. Happy with some bits, scratching my head with others.

Crits and sugestions welcome.

Pud'

I like it.
One thing you could do, is to get rid of the left and right lightsources.
Boost the middle one with some yellow / orange to get that ""dungeon feel"
with some big shadows dancing around.
eeeh, anyway it looks cool as it is, thats just the way I would go.

Pringle,

good feedback there. I suppose I could turn off the left and right lights. They're pulling the focus away from the centre of the picture.

thanks

damn I worte lots of stuff but opera crashed on me. With my bad english it would take to long to rewrite. But what I said in my lost text was mainly that I think you should keep it as it is. I love it pud!

pud this one is amazing, you are starting to be one of me favourites in these parts. Smile
regarding the lights, maybe just tone the right and left lightsource down a bit instead of deleting them.

see you
Matthew

Thanks for the encouragement guys. It's appreciated.

PS: Mimer, have you considered turning help.jpg into a more finished piece? It works well as a speedy, but I also think the elements are there for a really showstopping piece.

Me like.

oh, thx pudding Smile

Yes I have thought about it, and your right about that it got the elements for a finished pice, just have to make it a bit more dramatic. I will see what I can do.

as for the overpaint... I dont think that changing the color usually solves anything, it only makes the painting diffrent... but it can have an impact on the mood of the painting, as shown here. So in this case its a matter of what you like, either a cosy cave feeling or a hard hearing your footsteps kind of feeling... works good either way imho.
