Rob's Essential Music Compilation Collection

My little brother, Dennis, got married in March of 2004, and part of the wedding present I gave was a set of thirty CD's of the best music in my collection. The selection took weeks, and the actual converting/recording/burning for optimal quality took months. In the end, I feel that I've given him something that will stay with him for a lifetime. Dennis's musical taste as an adult is heavily influenced by the years we spent together--me as a teenager and him as a kid. I would take him with me whenever I hit the second-hand CD shops to search for rare and obscure gems--spending hours and hours test listening to CD's and scouring for out of print albums. I took him to his first concert, which was The Sundays playing at the Warfield in San Francisco. Our common love for artists like Sakamoto Ryuichi, Boowy, B'z, Psy-S, anime soundtracks, acid jazz, jazz fusion, Art of Noise, electronic music, J-pop, J-rock, alternative..etc are all from our years of listening to music together. Sometimes, we'd turn off all the lights in the house, and just blast the stereo and immerse ourselves in the magic that is music. The following is the list of the thirty CD collection I gave Dennis.
