A Giant, well it is actually a Jtte (danish word), but it's same same, kind of.
I made the miniature about a year ago. It's around 10 cm high.

Wow, very nice. Actually this fuckin rocks.

Could you maybe give us some info on the creation process? Id love to know more about how that is done.

Thanks everyone.

I'll see if I can find some pictures of the process of another figure I made.

Here it is in words. I start by building a wire skeleton and then I add tinfoil to build the basic form (mainly the body). I then sculp a slim version of the figure, not concentration on any detail. This is all done in a putty/clay called Milliput (don't forget you gloves, it will eat your fingers away). I let it dry and start with a new layer, working from the inside out (the body, the clothes, the beard and so forth letting it dry each time). I think this was all done in milliput, but if you want to work with even smaller figure and more details you can use Games Workshops Green Stuff, though it is quite expensive. You can use Milliput for the basic form and then make all the details with the Green Stuff. For modelling I use different kind of dentist tools. And by the way it takes a pretty long time to do one of these (about 20-25 hours for wire model to the finished painted model) so you must be patient, but I guess you guys are. Hope this helped.

Fiend,

That's superb. I've got some Milliput at home, but have only ever used it for plumbing jobs around the house. Have you heard of Sculpey? A friend who worked on The Return of the King says the guys in Weta Workshop used it for their models. I've heard that it's the clay of choice for the pros working in film.

Here's the site.

Hey Pud, thanks

Yes, Sculpey is excellent for doing models as well, thought it's a whole other way of working. It's like very fine clay that "never" dries. You can bake and then paint it. As with milliput is a good idea to make some sort of wire/metal skeleton and use some tinfoil to put around the wire (that will make the Sculpey stick a little better).

Thanks Fiend. I wonder have you heard about FIMO? Ive got some of that at home, but never seriously tried to model something yet.

Hey gLitterbug

I have tried Fimo but personally I don't think really worth modelling with that when you have the other options.

I only found a few and bad pictures of my process. Here is a link I found at concept art that really shows the whole process. www.nimin.net

I forgot to ask, did you do it for fun only to put it on your monitor or for another reason? Also could you like make a mold(?) out of it so you can replicate it?

Damn Fiend..that is a seriously bad ass model! And very cool that you made it out of milliput! 10cm is what...4 inches? Damn, that's some really great detail. I love that expression on his face. And being a long time miniature painter myself, I must complement you on an outstanding paint job, too!

Thanks again - some answars
I actually made it for my Warhammer Norse Army along with some Snow Trolls, Werewolves and a Frost Wyvern.
I can't do a mold now after I have painted it, but I guess I could have if I hadn't painted it - though I don't know how.
A CG one - if I get the time, but you welcome to try.

A detail to show all my mistakes

Again, awesome stuff, makes me wanna look into sculpting. Youre crazy though, others buy their warhammer figures, but no you gotta make them yourself Wink
