[Hyptosis]

Hey everyone, normaly I try to avoid posting more than one piece of work at a time. But I'm so far behind on posting updates, I'll just grab the most recent ones and try not to totaly spam. I've just signed on with a studio and I"m swamped. So I've been so in and out and havn't had time for much work, let alone anything of my own.

Most of these are concept-type works. Trying to get a feel for a character or a commission.

Any crits are welcomed, and advice, etc. some of these had photo refs and some didn't, but none were traced or anything. I'll post info on the photo refs.


I wanted to post this first, because it is the most contriversial and it took the most refs. I used refs for both faces, I had to use like 5 on Claudia Black, and it still doesn't look like her. She is so handsome and has such a great nose, I couldn't do her justice. Luckily I found a perfect one for Gigi and she turned out better in the face area. Those of you that know me know the Gigi/Claudia Black thing is uncommon work for me on so many levels. Especialy since I'm such a huge fan of farscape and of Claudia Black, but, er... don't mind that. I had a very good reason to do it. Fanart if you will. =] You can find the refs on any farscape fansite, most were small and pixely anyway.


This image took a long while, and dragons are totally not something I work on often. It didn't turn out as good as I'd like, and I hope to fix the background sometime in the future. I looked at like 10 billion different dragon images to try to get it right, seemed the draconomicon from tsr was the most help I think.


This ended up being a kind of actor/character type thing. It took a long while, but wasn't for anything important, just concepty play. Can you guess the actors? =D


This was a picture I did for my girlfriend. It is about a gremlin who befriends a spitfire. Spitfires are really mean, and they're strong and fierce beasts. Then they go to find an ancient and rare flower that grows in old ruins. Didn't make it far story-wise, just something to draw.


I was burned out one day and just started drawing, this is what resulted. A lot of people say it is bromish, which filled me with glee and I wasn't burned out anymore. Odd that.


This was some concept art for a 'robotic poet' Robots are alien to me, so I'm proud of this, no matter how simple and boring it might be. =D


This was a commission, also a difficult character for me and some of the instructions and descriptions were a bit vague. So I had to wing it, no pun intended. =D


These all were fun concept art type things. The yak/minotaur took the longest, the others I blazed through. They were inspired by space movies and tv, like farscape, gyver, stuff like that. They were just for fun. I did use refs of Steven Wang's work, he is a mask maker/sculptor that worked on predator and men in black I think. Don't quote me on that though.

I'm very interested in anything anyone has to say. Sorry for all the plugs, there is more, but I'll just keep it on my page for anyone interested. This list turned out longer than I intended. Hope I don't make anyone mad.
